Recovery Wrench Project is a community initiative focused on helping individuals in recovery overcome transportation barriers. We assist with vehicle repairs, accept donated vehicles, and provide hands-on mechanical skill development opportunities to help individuals rebuild stability and independence.
Our assistance is intended for individuals who are actively working toward rebuilding their lives in recovery and who are experiencing transportation barriers that affect employment, treatment participation, recovery meetings, or court obligations.
Each situation is reviewed individually to determine how we may be able to help.
We focus on repairs that help restore safe and reliable transportation, such as alternators, batteries, brakes, starters, and other common mechanical issues that prevent a vehicle from running or being safely driven.
Because resources are limited, not every repair request can be fulfilled, but we try to help when possible.
Community members can donate vehicles they no longer need. When possible, donated vehicles are repaired and placed with individuals in recovery who need reliable transportation to maintain employment, attend treatment, and meet other responsibilities.
Donated vehicles may also be used for training purposes to help participants learn mechanical skills.
We generally accept cars, trucks, and SUVs that are repairable or can be used for parts or training. Even vehicles that are not currently running may still be helpful depending on their condition.
If you have a vehicle you would like to donate, you can contact Recovery Wrench Project through the website or by email. We will discuss the condition of the vehicle and determine the best way to move forward with the donation.
